Gene Autry plays a judge who must ensure justice in a small western town.  Jim Granby and Ed Wheeler are con-artists who fake a gold rush.  Years later, Wheeler tries to repent against Granby’s wishes and ends up murdering him in a mine shaft.  During his stay in prison, Wheeler finds that Granby is not actually dead and, when he is released, kills him for certain. Gene Autry and Smiley Burnette bear witness to this chain of events and attempt to set things right.
