Bruno Anthony meets tennis player Guy Haines on a train and thinks he has met the perfect person to get rid of his hateful father. His plan is for Guy to kill his father and he could kill Guy’s wife Miriam so Guy can marry the beautiful daughter of a U.S. Senator named Anne Morton. Guy doesn’t agree with the plan, but Bruno goes ahead and kills Miriam. He informs Guy there is plenty of evidence against him since he had made some comments about Miriam after she didn’t agree to give him a divorce. The authorities believe Guy committed the murder.
