This film is the sequel to "The Jolson Story". The story is picked up as the singer gets back on stage after a hasty withdrawal. Problems arise for the singer when his wife leaves his side and the attraction of the entertainment world is not the same. Jolson decides it’s time for a drastic change when he leaves the stage for a fast paced life. When his 'Moma' passes away and World War II begins, Jolson comes back to his senses and back to the stage. He gets back together with his old manager Steve Martin and goes around the world Once again teamed with manager Steve Martin, Al Jolson travels the world performing for troops from Alaska to Africa. The traveling takes a toll on him and he meets a young, beautiful nurse Ellen Clark who shows him how to relax and not to be so much in a rush.
