Mae used to be a burlesque dancer, but now she dances with her daughter, Peggy, in the chorus. Peggy ends up dancing in the chorus, because she replaces dancer Bubbles, whom her mother had an altercation with. The young girl ends up falling in love with a rich man, Randy. May is not fond of the relationship since they come from different worlds, which could leave Peggy with a broken heart. Marilyn sings "Every Baby Needs a Da Da Daddy" and "Anyone Can Tell I Love You."
