Mae used to be a burlesque dancer, but now she dances with her daughter, Peggy , in the chorus. Peggy ends up dancing in the chorus, because she replaces dancer Bubbles, whom her mother had an altercation with. The young girl ends up falling in love with a rich man, Randy. May is not fond of the relationship since they come from different worlds, which could leave Peggy with a broken heart. Marilyn sings "Every Baby Needs a Da Da Daddy" and "Anyone Can Tell I Love You."
