Aubrey Filmore lives in a Missouri town where he works as a clumsy bellboy. He is constantly hassling the Union officers, for he wishes to be a spy in the Civil War. Filmore gets confused by the Rebels when he accidentally surprises the notorious Confederate spy by the name of “The Grey Spider”. The Union use Filmore as a spy, but Filmore also has plans to attract the attention of a nice Southern girl named Sallyann.
