Chester Wooley and Duke Ega are salesmen who travel all around and make a stop at Wagon Gap, Montana. An infamous culprit, Fred Hawkins is killed and the two salesmen are the main suspects in the crime. They are immediately condemned and sentenced to death by being hung. Jim Simpson is the leader of the local citizen’s committee and comes to the salesmen’s rescue when he realizes there is a law where the survivor of a gun duel must be responsible for Hawkin’s family and debt. This is great news for the two since they have escaped death, but this means Chester has to take care and look after Hawkin’s widow and her seven children. Mrs. Hawkins works Chester to death from morning till night on the farm. What is worst is that Chester has to also work at the saloon every night to pay back Hawkin’s liability to the owner, Jake Frame. Mrs. Hawkins has her reasons on why she is working Chester to death and it’s so he will marry her.
