Daisy Kenyon is a commercial artist having an affair with married lawyer Dan O'Mara. She hopes he will leave his wife and marry her.  She encounters Peter, a veteran who has just returned from war and is a stand-up guy.  He loves her, but she does not love him but marries him in hopes of a better life.  Dan gets a divorce as soon as she marries Peter.
