After returning from overseas, one of two former soldiers has illegally brought with him a French orphan girl he has become close with. They end up meeting with their old sergeant who is not very fond of the two. They also become involved with a race-car builder who is in search of backers for a brand new tiny racer he is in the middle of creating.
