A young writer, ‘Kit’ Madden, has just had a hit novel that a prominent studio is going to turn into a movie, but they need a star. Just then Kit meets up with a good looking Marine, Rusty, and his friend, Dink. Kit lies about her identity, but teams up with the two, trying to keep track of Rusty while she confers with the studios. Adventures and romance abound as Kit tries to fend off Rusty’s advances during their travels halfway across the country to California.
