Clio Dulaine travels to New Orleans from Paris after the death of her mother to bring down her father’s wife's family for embarrassing her mother while she was alive. Her plans also include marrying a wealthy man to have the respect her mother never had. She ends up falling for Clint Maroon, who is a gambler. Not what she had planned, but she follows him to Saratoga Springs for the horse race where she is determined to make some money.
