Two soldiers go to the Hollywood Canteen for three nights, for they are on sick leave. After the three nights they will report back to duty. John Garfield helps Slim a little by getting him to kiss Joan Leslie, the girl of his dreams. They encounter one another later on at the Farmer’s Market. On the last night, Slim is at the Canteen with a bunch of other men whom have their eye on Joan. Slim feels he has been mislead when she does not appear at his train to say farewell.
