Lon Walker is a criminal with a reward for whoever catches him. Raymond Harper is the manager of the Black Hills Division of Wells Fargo who is convinced that Lon is the only person strong enough to stop the robberies that are taking away from the company’s business. Lon finds himself with a new job even though Marshal Harvey Dorman and banker James Phelps are against the idea. He takes the job after he learns that Mr. Southern was killed in a stagecoach robbery and this will keep him out of jail. Lon becomes suspicious when large deposits are made at the bank on the same days the stage robberies took place.
