The John Paul Jones is a ship on a voyage with crew members, Steve Boleslavski.  When she is unable to survive the rough seas, she is assigned to the mail run.  The ship soon gets involved in a battle with a Japanese sub and the crew come up with a plan to save the ship and destroy the Japanese submarine.
