Confessions of a Vice Baron (1943)
Confessions of a Vice Baron
Directed by S. Roy Luby, William A. O’Connor
Cast: Willy Costello, Lloyd Ingraham
On the eve of his execution, a vice-rackets big shot recalls his various exploits in crimes such as abortion and white slavery, in which he frequently operated under an alias.
The ending is a close-up of the vice-baron lecturing directly to the audience with the last line being “crime doesn’t pay”.
