Philip Raven is a hit man who kills a blackmailer and is paid off by Willard Gates in hot money. A Senate committee enlists the help of Ellen Graham to investigate Gates. She also happens to be the girlfriend of police Lieut. Crane who is after Raven. Raven meets Ellen on the train and realizes they are after the same man.
