The Invisible Killer (1941)

The Invisible Killer

(1941)

60 min.

Directed by Sherman Scott

Cast: Grace Bradley, Roland Drew and Jeanne Kelly

Mystery

Perky gal reporter Grace Bradley (as Sue Walker) and police detective Roland Drew (as Jerry Brown) butt heads, banter romantically, and try to solve a series of murders connected to a gambling racket. This low-budget crime drama begins with its highlight, as officer Drew attempts to pull over Ms. Bradley for speeding. The "chase" effectively introduces the lead characters and their relationship. Later, Bradley shows some female muscle when she decks Drew. With pain and pleasure, he remarks, "What a gal!" The couple have some problems working with each other but that doesn't stop them from narrowing the list of suspects.

A trio of murders has occurred and the police are baffled as to how they were perpetrated.  An eager female reporter hoping for a good story ends up partnering with a homicide detective assigned to the case.  The couple may have problems working with each other but that doesn’t stop them from narrowing the list of suspects, which places them both in great danger.
