Gloves Donahue is a Broadway gambler in search of the murderer who killed the baker of his preferred cheesecake. He discovers Leda Hamilton, a nightclub singer, leaving the bakery. She and her musical partner, Pepi, vanish after Joe, the partner of her boss Marty, is killed. It is soon realized that a group of Nazi spies are working on destroying a battleship located in the New York harbor.
