The old Spanish land grants are being inspected during the year of 1860. Montez convinces the inspector to change the border of Don Regas' ranch, for he wants part of his property. Don Regas being as clever as he is wrote the original grant on a simple bandanna. Indians are sent by Montez to find the grant. Bill Cody and Gabby get into a fight with the Indians and send them back. Gabby gets hurt in the fight and wraps around the million dollar grant around his arm to compress his wound, not knowing how valuable the bandanna is.
