Ilsa Crane is the secretary and niece of Lady Lebanon. Gilder and Brooks are the stern butlers whose behavior scares Isla, but young Lord William Lebanon is there to help her out. A young architect, Richard Ferraby, arrives from London to make sure everything is up to date with the old house and there is an immediate attraction between him and Isla. Lady Lebanon wants Willie to marry Isla in order to carry on the family name, but Willie disagrees with her proposal. More problems arise with the arrival of the family physician, Dr. Amersham.
