Rene has no money in her pocket, while Kay is a wealthy actress visiting Paris. They have dinner together and he immediately falls for her, but she leaves to go back to London and he is right behind her. He ends up becoming the chef at her house without her knowing after he makes the dessert, making the chef quit. Everyone becomes aware of the situation, which angers Philip since he wants Kay to be his wife. Rene does not give up.
