According to Edward G. Robinson this was one of his favorite films, a comedic break from his traditional gangster role.
Remy Marco, a very successful bootlegger, plans to go straight as a brewer when Prohibition ends. Unfortunately, his beer is terrible and he's soon in trouble with his bankers who want to foreclose. To add to his problems his daughter is going to marry a law man and when Remy and his wife plan the engagement party at their vacation home he discovers that a gang has been hiding out there....with four of them winding up dead and their bodies stashed in the guest room. And who is this kid Douglas Fairbanks Rosenbloom anyway?
