Colonel John Wister is on assignment with the British forces in Dubik, but travels back to England on leave. When he arrives, he encounters Julia Ashton whom he falls in love with. She is very fond of him, but feels she can never love again since her fiancé died recently. Wister persuades her to marry him and is capable of living without her love. She agrees and travels back to Dubik with him. When they arrive she meets Captain Denny Roark,a handsome young man who makes her think of her fiancé . She quickly discovers she can love again, but Roark is the man she wants. Wister is aware his wife and best friend are starting to have feelings for each other and then a misfortune occurs.
