A Damsel in Distress is a 1937 Hollywood musical comedy film starring Fred Astaire, Joan Fontaine, George Burns, and Gracie Allen.

The staff of Tottney Castle are placing bets on who Lady Alyce Marshmorton will marry as Albert is thinking Mr. X. Alyce travels to London to find a man to marry, but encounters a dancer named Jerry Halliday and is confined to her castle for her behavior. Albert goes to Jerry in order to win the bet.
