When Cedric English’s father passes away, it is just him and his mother living in Brooklyn. Cedric's grandfather, the Earl of Dorincourt, renounced his son when he decided to marry an American. Things change when the Earl’s last son passes away and he recognizes Cedric as Lord Fauntleroy, his successor. The Earl brings Cedric and his mother to live with him. Cedric uses his new fortune to help his old friends and travels to England where he must convince the Earl to give his mother a chance.
