This film centers on the fiancé of orchestra conductor Paul Harrandt, Anita Keller who wins a chinchilla muff and a scarf in a raffle held at a social event. Problems arise when Anita's sister Gerta takes her new furs in order to pose for the famous Viennese artist Fritz Heideneck. When Fritz's portrait of Gerta is revealed, she is posing only in the muff as Anita. Gerta’s face is concealed with a mask, so everyone believes Anita is in the picture since the newspaper printed her name as the one to win the fur. Everyone begins to speculate that Anita and Fritz are having an affair. Fritz is well known for being with women and is really having an affair with Anita. Paul’s brother Karl pressures Paul to get answers from Fritz, even though he believes Anita is not the pictured model. He tells Paul Anita was not the model, but will not reveal to him who the model is, so they come up with a name in order to get Karl off Paul’s back. They find the name Leopoldine Major in the city directory, but there is really someone by that name who is an attendant to the Countess Feldon. When the newspaper reveals her name, she is mortified.
