The film is set in Moscow where Count Vronsky and Anna Karenina fall in love with each other, even though Anna is still married, yet her husband will not give her the divorce she desires. Kitty is related to Anna’s sister-in-law and was interested in Vronsky, for she has connections to him. She becomes interested in another man after she realizes she does not have a chance with him.
