John Barrymore plays a successful Broadway director named Oscar Jaffe. He discovers Lily Garland played by Carole Lombard who rises to fame in Hollywood as Jaffe’s career goes downhill. They encounter one another later in her career and he is determined to work with her again, but she wants nothing to do with him, for they have the same temper.
