Betty's father does not like the man Betty has chosen to be her significant other so he uses Zaps Charley with this invention that appears to be a camera.  The plan does not work as the invention gives Charley some guts to be a real man and Betty falls deeper in love with him.  However, later due to Charley's new level of confidence, he gets in trouble with the law and ends up getting arrested and being put on trial.
