The film is set in a small town in America, where the local tailor is seen as a role model to the school kids. The local gang boss played by Charles Bickford orders his men to kill the tailor. The kids begin to find little information that the cops never looked at, but set the man free when there is not enough evidence found. They try to tell other adults what they know, but one listens to them. They take matters into their own hands by not playing nice anymore.
