Bob Baxter is given a Ranger’s badge after his Ranger father is shot and injured by a group of rustlers. The sheriff ends up catching the rustlers and returns to town with Bob, where he encounters Mary Clayton, a friend from his childhood on the train. Nat the Bat is on the same train and hides from Bob, since he is running from the law for murder. After they arrive in Cheeko, there is a group of people waiting for the prisoners, so they release them with plans on picking them up later. Danny Clayton is one of the men in the group, who is not the smartest man, running his own cattle while thinking they were the leader of the rustling gang, Bert’s cattle.
