Before they make their decision, Cromwell decides to join his friend, World War I pilot Donald Evans on a flight to Alaska. Unfortunately they crash in Alaska, killing Evans. Fur trapper Tom Ross comes to Cromwel’s rescue. Klondike nurses him back to health. She was engaged to marry Armstrong's son Jim, but he is suffering from the same disease Cromwell’s patient had.
