When the criminal the Nevada Kid (Bob Steele) hesitates for a moment to steal a kiss from victim Joan (Dorothy Dix) during a stage robbery, the Kid is captured and jailed by the authorities. Nevada's sidekick Cherokee (Gabby Hayes), managesto forge a document from the Governor to pardon Nevada. Thinking he was really pardoned for his crimes, Nevada decides to go straight and gets a job guarding stage coaches. But the stage is robbed by Nevada's old gang and the driver killed, and only Joan believes Nevada didn't commit the murder. Joan helps Nevada escape, and the two work together to track down and capture the real murderer, and retrieve the stolen money.
