Producer Victor Randall and his star and ex-wife, Paulette Vaile gets into a fight right before the opening night of Randall’s production. Randall's friend Bunson succeeds with breaking up their fight and continuing with the show . Victor is still in love with Paulette, but she has a boyfriend named Eddie. Kiki is an energetic chorus girl who gets fired for biting another dancer and begs Victor for her job back, which he gives back to her. Kiki is in love with Victor and gets confused during her performance when she sees him. The audience loves it, but the other performers are angry with Paulette slapping Kiki. She wants Kiki to be fired, but Victor has no interest in doing that. From then on Kiki is determined to make Victor her man as Paulette tries to make moves on Victor. He loves Paulette, but knows she is no good for him.
