In March 1931 comedy pioneer Mack Sennett heard Bing Crosby sing at the Coconut Grove and hired him to star in six two-reel musical comedies. Filmed in 1931 and 1932 they were released one at a time through 1933 to cash in on Bing's rising popularity following “The Big Broadcast” in 1932.
