This Our Gang / Little Rascals comedy short was released by MGM in 1930, and was directed by Robert F. McGowan.
Back in the day, when female school teachers married they were not allowed to continue teaching, and that’s how the gang lost their last teacher. Now they have a new teacher, the lovely and nice Miss Crabtree, and they sure don’t want to lose her! With summer vacation approaching they are afraid that she’ll have time to get married and then she’ll quit.
When a young man arrives at the school one day asking where Miss Crabtree is, the gang jumps to the conclusion that he’s a suitor, not realizing that he’s her brother, Jack. In their own zany fashion the gang sets out to discourage the potential suitor by telling him absurd stories about her. Did he know that she has a wooden leg? Did he know that she has two sets of dentures? And does he know she already has seven husbands and twenty-one kids?
