Small Talk, directed by Robert F. McGowan, was released by MGM in 1929 and is an Our Gang/ Little Rascals comedy short. This is the first ‘talkie’ in the series.
All of the gang are living in an orphanage and their greatest hope is that they will be adopted by a family ‘where spinach is not on the menu’.
After a nice lady visits she adopts Wheezer, leaving his sister Mary Ann and the rest of the gang behind. Wheezer is happy in his new home, except for being homesick for his sister and their pals.
The gang finally comes for a visit, and the usual chaos breaks out as the kids explore Wheezer’s new surroundings. When the lady sees how happy Wheezer is to see his sister she decides to adopt Mary Ann too, and arranges a happy surprise for the rest of the gang as well.
