Zane Grey novel about Native Americans

A Navajo tribe resides on a reservation in which Booker, who is prejudiced against Indians, looks after it. In order to make a profit, Booker and his men rob the best of Indian horses. Nophaie, a tribal leader notices Booker’s high prices and complains on it, but nothing is settled. An Army captain travels out west to find the horses Booker was supposed to have purchase at a decent price after World War I begins. Nophaie becomes friends with the teacher at the Indian school named Marian Warner who teaches him to read.
