Confidence man Professor Eustace McGargle becomes the unlikely guardian of an orphaned circus waif named Sally. He tries to return Sally to her wealthy and esteemed grandfather, who does not like show folk.
This was Fields' third film and was based on the play Poppy and was remade by W.C. Fields in 1936 under that name.
