Written by Johnny Hines, who also plays the lead role, Conductor 1492 is the story of Terry O’Toole, a young Irish immigrant who lands in America and gets a job as a trolley conductor. When he saves the life of Bobby Connelly, the son of the president of the trolley line, he is rewarded and also welcomed into the Connelly’s home. There Terry meets Noretta, the daughter of the house, and romance blossoms. When trouble arises between the officers of the trolley company, Terry’s visiting father, Mike, saves the day.
