B. REEVES EASON BIOGRAPHY & FILMOGRAPHY:

William Reeves Eason was born in New York City on October 2nd, 1886 and first began his career as an actor before switching over to the other side of the industry and working as a director.

He began his career in 1913 appearing on a number of shorts such as, "The Step Brothers" (1913), "A Divorce Scandal" (1913), "The Miser's Policy" (1913), "The Hermit" (1914) and "Like Father, Like Son" (1914).  He continued acting up until 1928 with his last film roles being on, "Nine-Tenths of the Law" (1918), "Two Kinds of Love" (1920) and "The Danger Rider" (1928).

Reeves then remained in the industry but switched to the other side working behind the scenes as a director.  He made quite a name for himself and became known for his use of 42 cameras when he filmed, "Ben-Hur: A Tale of the Christ" (1925) starring Ramon Novarro and Francis X. Bushman, which also was the most expensive silent film ever made reaching $3.9 million.

Some of his more well known films included, "Ben-Hur: A Tale of the Christ" (1925), "Charge of the Light Brigade" (1936) starring Errol Flynn, Olivia de Havilland, Patric Knowles, David Niven, Nigel Bruce, Spring Byington, Henry Stephenson, J. Carrol Naish, Scotty Beckett and Donald Crisp, "Gone with the Wind" (1939) starring Clark Gable, Vivien Leigh, Thomas Mitchell, Hattie McDaniel, Leslie Howard, Olivia de Havilland, Rand Brooks, George Reeves and Butterfly McQueen, "They Died With Their Boots On" (1941) starring Errol Flynn and Olivia de Havilland and "Truck Busters" (1943) starring Richard Travis, Virginia Christine and Charles Lang.

Although he did act and direct, he made a real name for himself in the industry as an action specialist as well as a second-unit director.  He earned the nickname 'Breezy' for his attitude in regards to safety on set at all times.

He was known for using a total of forty two cameras to film the chariot race in, "Ben Hur: A Tale of the Christ" (1925).

He retired completely from the industry in 1952 after directing the films, "Rim Fire" (1949) starring James Millican, Reed Hadley, George Cleveland, Henry Hull, Mary Beth Hughes, Glenn Strange, I. Stanford Jolley and John Forrest 'Fuzzy' Knight and "Dick Tracy" (1950).  He was only married once to Jimsy Maye and they had one son together who also worked as an actor, however at the age of six he was killed in a car accident.

B. Reeves Eason passed away on June 9th, 1956 at the age of sixty nine after suffering from a heart attack.  His remains are buried at Hollywood Forever Cemetery in Los Angeles, California.
