YVONNE CRAIG BIOGRAPHY & FILMOGRAPHY:

Yvonne Craig was born on May 16th, 1937 in Taylorville, Illinois with the middle name Joyce. She was raised in Columbus, Ohio and from a young age she developed an interest in dancing and was accepted to Denham’s Ballet Russe de Monte Carlo.

After graduating from Sunset High School in Dallas, Texas, Craig later relocated to Los Angeles in hopes of pursuing her dancing career but later moved into the film industry. She began appearing on such films as, “The Gene Krupa Story” (1959) starring Sal Mineo, “The Young Land” (1959), “It Happened at the World’s Fair” (1963) starring Elvis Presley and “Kissin’ Cousins” (1964) also starring Elvis Presley.

Along with working on films she began to add a number of television series to her resume such as, “Perry Mason” (1959), “Batman” (1966), “Star Trek” (1966) and “The Six Million Dollar Man” (1974). She is still most remembered as the role of Batgirl.

Other television credits she added to her resume were on, “Death Valley Days”, “The Barbara Stanwyck Show”, “The Man from U.N.C.L.E.”, “The Wild Wild West”, “Love, American Style”, “Emergency!” and “Family Feud”.

As roles began to become less available to her, she decided to retire from the industry and start a whole new career in real estate. She was also for a time involved as coproducer of industrial shows and still works in real estate.

Yvonne Craig has married twice throughout her lifetime, first to Jimmy Boyd between 1960 and 1962. She then married Kennth Aldrich in 1988 but this marriage was also short lived. She never had any of her own children and has not re-married.

In 2000, Craig published her first autobiography titled, “From Ballet to the Batcave and Beyond” and her most recent work in the industry is providing the voice of the Grandma character in the children’s animated television show, “Olivia” (2009).
