WILLIAM SADLER BIOGRAPHY & FILMOGRAPHY:

William Sadler was born on April 13th, 1950 in Buffalo, New York with the birth name William Thomas Sadler, born to Jane and William Sadler.  As a young boy he developed an interest in performing and after graduating from Orchard Park High School in New York and then went on to study at Suny Geneseo and briefly at Cornell University where he earned a Masters degree in Acting and a minor in Speech Communications. 
 
His career as an actor began working in New York as a stage performer where he added over seventy five stage credits to his resume in just twelve years.  Some of his more well known play roles include, "Ivanov", "Biloxi Blues"  and "Julius Caesar".
 
Sadler is most well known for his roles in the films, "Die Hard 2" (1990) starring Bruce Willis, Bonnie Bedelia, Dennis Franz, William Atherton, John Amos, Franco Nero and Fred Thompson and "The Shawshank Redemption" (1994) starring Morgan Freeman, Tim Robbins and James Whitmore.  Other film credits he has added to his resume over the course of his career are, "K-9" (1989) starring Jim Belushi and Kevin Tighe, "Bill & Ted's Bogus Journey" (1991), "Disturbing Behavior" (1998) starring James Marsden and Katie Holmes, "The Green Mile" (1999) starring two time Academy Award winner Tom Hanks, "The Battle of Shaker Heights" (2003) produced by Ben Affleck and Matt Damon and starring Shia LaBeouf and Kathleen Quinlan,  "The Mist" (2007) starring Thomas Jane and Marcia Gay Harden, "Eagle Eye" (2008) starring Shia LaBeouf, Julianne Moore, Michelle Monahan and Billy Bob Thornton and "Three Rivers" (2009-2010).
 
Along with his many film roles he has appeared on a variety of television series such as, "Roseanne" (1988), "Murphy Brown" (1988), "Roswell" (1999), "Tales from the Crypt" (1989), "Law & Order" (2005), "C.S.I." (2006), "Traveler" (2007) and the Jesse Stone series' starring Tom Selleck.
 
William Sadler has married only once to Marni Joan Bakst whom he wed in 1977 and together they have one child and remain married today.  Most recently, he has added to his credits the films, "Riddle" (2012), "Melvin Smarty" (2012), "Greetings from Tim Buckley" (2012), "Downeast" (2012), "Machete Kills" (2013) and "Iron Man 3" set to release in 2013.
