TOM BOSLEY BIOGRAPHY & FILMOGRAPHY:
Tom Bosley was born on October 1st, 1927 in Chicago, Illinois with the middle name Edward, born to parents, Dora and Benjamin Bosley. He served in the United States Army during World War II and also studied at DePaul University. He first became involved in acting as a stage actor in a production of, "Our Town" (1947) followed shortly after with his break through stage role in, "Fiorello!" (1959) for which he won a Tony Award.
Bosley became most known to viewers for his role as Howard Cunningham on the long running television series, "Happy Days" (1974-1984). Some of his earlier film roles were in, "Love with the Proper Stranger" (1963), "The World of Henry Orient" (1964), "Divorce American Style" (1967), "Yours, Mine and Ours" (1968), "Gus" (1976) and the documentary, "Paper Clips".
Other television roles he added to his resume were roles in, "Murder, She Wrote", "Father Dowling Mysteries", "Bonanza", "Mod Squad", "Route 66", "Naked City, "The Virginian", "Perry Mason", "The Love Boat", "Burke's Law", "ER" and most recent television appearances were on, "Family Guy" and "That 70's Show".
Along with a highly successful career as a film and television actor, Bosley also did a number of voice over projects such as in the animated series, "Wait Till Your Father Gets Home", "The World of David the Gnome", "The Tangerine Bear", "The Stingiest Man In Town" and was also the voice of Mister Geppetto, Pinocchio's dad in, "Pinocchio and the Emperor of the Night" (1987).
Some of his more recent roles prior to him passing away were in, "Charlie & Me" (2008), "Santa's Buddies" (2009) and "The Back-up Plan" (2010). He also worked on a number of commercials for such products as, Glad Sandwich and garbage bags as well as a radio commercial for Saturn cars.
He was married twice throughout his lifetime. His first wife was Jean Eliot whom he married in 1962 and they had one child and remained married until she passed away on April 20th, 1978. He then married Patricia Carr in 1980 and they stayed together until he passed away at the age of eighty three on October 19th, 2010 in Rancho Mirage, California after suffering from lung cancer. His remains were interred at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Los Angeles, California.
