TOBEY MAGUIRE BIOGRAPHY & FILMOGRAPHY:

Tobey Maguire was born on June 27th, 1975 in Santa Monica, California with the birth name Tobias Vincent Maguire.  His parents were Wendy and Vincent and they were not married when he was born and split up two years after his birth.  As a child he lived all over the country from California to Oregon to Washington.  After the ninth grade he chose to drop out of school and pursue a career as an actor.
 
He began with working on a number of commercials and small television roles until he finally got cast in his break through role, "Great Scott!" (1992), however the show only lasted nine weeks before being canceled. 
 
Tobey continues to work in the industry but was also fighting the addiction of drugs and alcohol.  When he finally became clean for good he began getting cast in more prominent roles such as, "The Ice Storm" (1997), "Pleasantville" (1998), "The Cider House Rules" (1999), "Ride With the Devil" (1999), "Wonder Boys" (2000), "Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas" (1998) and he did voice over work in the feature film, "Cats & Dogs" (2001).
 
His next role turned out to be a huge success starring in, "Spider-Man" (2002) followed by the sequel, "Spider-Man 2" (2004) and "Spider-Man 3" (2007).  Some of his more recent roles have been in, "The Good German" (2006), "Tropic Thunder" (2008), "Brothers" (2009), "The Details" (2011) and soon to release, "The Great Gatsby" (2012).
 
He also owns Maguire Entertainment and has been involved in producing such films as, "25th Hour" (2002), "Whatever We Do" (2003) and "Seabiscuit" (2003).  His company is also involved in producing an adaptation of a novel called, "Tokyo Suckerpunch" along with Sony Pictures. 
 
Maguire has married only once to Jennifer Meyer in 2007 and they have two children and remain married today.  They remain very good friends with Sara Gilbert and Leonardo DiCaprio and reside in Los Angeles, California.
