TIMOTHY BOTTOMS BIOGRAPHY & FILMOGRAPHY:  

Timothy Bottoms was born on August 30th, 1951 in Santa Barbara, California with the middle name James, born to James 'Bud' and Betty Bottoms.  He was the oldest of four siblings who all pursued careers in entertainment. 
 
As a young boy he loved to perform and he joined the local Youth Theater Productions while in school.  In 1967, Bottoms joined the Santa Barbara Madrigal Society and toured throughout Europe with them.
 
Now focused on pursuing a career as an actor, Bottoms began working as a stage actor.  It was during a performance of, "Romeo and Juliet" that a scout from universal took notice of him and without any former film experience, Bottoms was cast as the lead in the film, "Johnny Got His Gun" (1971), a role for which he earned a Golden Globe nomination as, "Most Promising Newcomer". 
 
Soon he was adding such film credits to his resume as, "The Last Picture Show" (1971), "Love and Pain and the Whole Damn Thing" (1973), "The Paper Chase" (1973), "The Crazy World of Julius Vrooder" (1974), "A Small Town in Texas" (1976), "Rollercoaster" (1977) and on the mini series, "East of Eden" (1981).
 
His three younger siblings admired his accomplishments and soon all four boys came together for the television movie, "Island Sons" (1987), which was a pilot that unfortunately, was not successful.
 
Bottoms continued to work in the industry, however decent roles were not coming as easily for him.  He did appear in the films, "Invaders from Mars" (1986), "The Drifter" (1988) and "Istanbul" (1989), but none were reaching the level of success of his earlier career roles.
 
In 2001 he made a comeback with the television series, "That's My Bush!" followed by portraying President George Bush in two other films, "The Crocodile Hunter: Collision Course" (2002) and "DC 9/11: Time of Crisis" (2003).  He continued to appear in more decent roles again such as, "Elephant" (2003), "Paradise, Texas" (2005) and "Call of the Wild" (2009).
 
Timothy Bottoms has married twice throughout his lifetime, first to Alicia Cory, who was a professional singer.  They married in 1975 and had one child before the marriage came to an end in 1982.  His current wife is Marcia Morehart and they wed in 1983 and have three children together.
 
He remains working in the industry and during his spare time, Bottoms enjoys training wild horses at his ranch.  Some of his most recent appearances include the television series, "Private Practice" (2010), and roles in the films, "Pound of Flesh" (2010), "The One Nighter" (2011) and soon to release, "Hello Stranger…".
