TERRY O'QUINN BIOGRAPHY & FILMOGRAPHY:
Terry O'Quinn was born on July 15th, 1952 in Sault Sainte Marie, Michigan with the birth name Terrance Quinn to a family of eleven children total. During high school he became very involved in percussion and was raised in Michigan. He later earned a degree from Central Michigan University as well as the University of Iowa.
He is most well known for his role in the films, "The Stepfather" (1987) and "The Stepfather II" (1989), portraying Jerry Blake. He is also very well remembered for his role as John Locke in the television series, "Lost" (2004-2010), a role for which in 2007 he won an Emmy Award for Outstanding Best Supporting Actor.
It was during his years at college that he first began to develop an interest in acting. Not only did he have talent as an actor he also excelled at playing the guitar and singing. Also, during college he realized his talent for writing and directing. One of his early directing and writing projects was the musical, "Orchestrina".
Soon O'Quinn began adding a number of acting credits to his resume such as a role on the television movie, "F.D.R: The Last Year" (1980) followed by appearances on the television series, "The Doctors" (1981), "Tales of the Unexpected" (1982) and "ABC After School Specials" (1983).
In addition to his early television roles he also worked on a variety of feature films such as, "Places in the Heart" (1984), "Silver Bullet" (1985), "The Stepfather" (1987), "Young Guns" (1988), "The Rocketeer" (1991) and "Tombstone" (1993) starring Kurt Russell, Sam Elliott and Powers Booth among many other stars.
For his role in, "The Stepfather", he was nominated for his first Saturn Award as well as an Independent Spirit Award. He had now begun to make quite a name for himself in Hollywood and numerous television roles followed such as, "The X-Files", "Jake and the Fatman", "Tales from the Crypt", "Earth 2", "Homicide: Life on the Street", "Star Trek: The Next Generation", "Diagnosis Murder" and "Millennium".
More recently he has continued to work in the industry making guest appearances on the television series, "Alias" (2001), "Lost" (2004), "Hawaii Five-O" (2011-2012), "666 Park Avenue" (2012) and the television movie, "Taken from Me: The Tiffany Rubin Story" (2011).
He has married only one time to Lori O'Quinn in 1979 and they have two children and remain together today.
