SELA WARD BIOGRAPHY & FILMOGRAPHY:
 
Sela Ward was born on July 11th, 1956 in Meridian, Mississippi with the birth name Sela Ann Ward born to parents, Granberry Holland and Annie Kate Ward.  She has three younger siblings and after completing high school, Ward went on to study at the University of Alabama where she earned a degree in Fine Arts and advertising in 1977.
 
After college she relocated to New York to work at an advertising agency and while living in New York she became involved in modeling.  She first worked with the Wilhelmina Agency.  Her first real job was an advertisement for Pepsi soda products and soon she was doing commercial work such as for products like, Maybelline.  After gaining quite a bit of commercial experience, Ward then relocated to Los Angeles, California where she began her pursuit as an actress in television.
 
Her first television role was on, "Emerald Point N.A.S." (1983) and soon she was appearing on such films as, "The Man Who Loved Women" (1983).  She became most well known for her role in the television series, "Sisters" (1991) which aired for six seasons and earned her an Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series. 
 
Along with a career as a model and actress she also became involved in the fashion industry and began her first company.  Sela also developed and produced her own documentary titled, "The Changing Face of Beauty".
 
Some of her more recent roles have been in, "Runaway Bride" (1999), "Once and Again" (1999) for which she won her second Emmy Award, the television movie, "Suburban Madness" (2004) and in 2006 she portrayed Kevin Costner's wife in, "The Guardian".  Her most recent television role was in 2010 when she joined the cast of, "CSI: NY".
 
She has been married only once to Howard Sherman from 1992 till present and they have two children, Austin Ward and Anabella Raye.  She is also involved in a charity for creating emergency shelters for children that are awaiting to be placed in foster homes called, The Hope Village for Children in Meridian, Mississippi.
