SCOTT BAIO BIOGRAPHY & FILMOGRAPHY:
Scott Baio was born on September 22nd, 1960 in Brooklyn, New York with the birth name Scott Vincent James Baio, born to Mario and Rose Baio. When he was just nine years old, he began to develop an interest in acting and it did not take long before he was booking a number of small commercial roles.
He received his early years education at Saint Bernadette Elementary school in Brooklyn, New York and then went on to earn his diploma from Xaverian High School.
At the age of sixteen he was given his first taste of success when he was cast in the film, "Bugsy Malone" (1976). He had now gained the attention of Hollywood and was soon offered the role that would take him to a whole new level of stardom portraying the character, Chachi on the television sitcom, "Happy Days" (1977-1984).
His family relocated to Hollywood and along with appearing on, "Happy Days" he also added a number of film credits to his resume such as, "Skatetown USA" (1979), "Foxes" (1980) and "Zapped!" (1982). He also worked on such sitcoms as, "Who's Watching the Kids", "Joanie Loves Chachi", "Fantasy island", "The Love Boat" and "The Runaways".
He was now a teen idol and a highly desired actor in the industry. When the "Happy Days" series cancelled he was then cast in another starring television sitcom role, "Charles in Charge" (1984) a role which he appeared in 126 episodes.
As his career progressed he has added more television credits as, "Baby Talk" (1991), "Diagnosis Murder" (1993), "Can't Hurry Love" (1996), "Veronica's Closet" (1997), "The Nanny" (1998), "Touched by an Angel" (2001) and "Arrested Development" (2003).
More recent film credits included, "The Bread, My Sweet" (2001), "Italian Ties" (2001), "Face Value" (2002) and "Dumb Luck" (2003). Most recent roles were on the television movies, "Van Stone: Tour of Duty" (2006), "Finish Line" (2008) and "The Kelsey Grammer Bill Zucker Comedy Hour" (2010).
He has also gained experience working on the other side of the industry as a director on such television series as, "Baby Talk" (1992), "The Wayans Bros" (1995), "Unhappily Ever After" (1995), "Kirk" (1995), "Guys Like Us" (1998) and "The Parkers" (1999).
He is currently married to his only wife, Renee Sloan whom he wed in 2007 and together they have one child. His most recent professional venture is working on a sitcom for the television station, Nick @ Nite.
Scott Baio was inducted into the Man Show Hall of Fame due to his reputation of dating some high profile actresses such as Pamela Anderson and Brooke Shields. He and his current wife started a foundation called the Bailey Baio Angel Foundation that provides financial assistance to families who are dealing with metabolic disorders, which is normally a genetic disease inherited at birth that affects how your body digests food.
