SANDRA BULLOCK BIOGRAPHY & FILMOGRAPHY:

Sandra Bullock was born on July 26th, 1964 in Arlington, Virginia with the birth name Sandra Annette Bullock to parents John W. Bullock a United States Army employee and her mother, Helga Meyer.  Her father also worked as a part time voice coach and her mother as an Opera singer, which is how she first got involved in acting.  She grew up traveling with her parents and her one younger sister.  As a child she would perform in local chorus shows and also studied ballet and vocal arts and would often perform with her mother.
 
She graduated from Washington-Lee High School where she was also involved in a number of the school productions and then went on to study at East Carolina University in Greenville, North Carolina, but three credit before she earned her degree, Bullock left to pursue a career as an actress, however she did later finally earn her degree.
 
Bullock relocated to New York City and while looking for work as a stage actress she supported herself working as a waitress.  She also studied with Sanford Meisner and was also cast in an off Broadway production called, "No Time Flat" which lead to her first film role, "Bionic Slowdown: The Six Million Dollar Man and the Bionic Woman" (1989). 
 
A couple small film roles and television appearances followed such as, "Love Potion No. 9" (1992) and "The Thing Called Love" (1993) and then she was cast in, "Demolition Man" (1993) which lead to her biggest role yet in the film, "Speed" (1994) co-starring Keanu Reeves, Jeff Daniels and Dennis Hopper.
 
Bullock was now being watched by casting agents and film critics alike and she lived up to her expectations being cast in such films as, "While You Were Sleeping", "Miss Congeniality", "Speed 2: Cruise Control", "Miss Congeniality 2: Armed & Fabulous" and "Crash".  
 
Some of her more recent film roles have been in, "Premonition", "The Proposal" and "The Blind Side" , for which she won for Best Actress at the Golden Globes, Academy Awards and the Screen Actors Guild. 
 
Sandra Bullock has also been honored with a number of awards throughout her career.  She was selected by people's magazine as, one of the 50 most beautiful people in the world in 1996 and 1999.  Then in 2005 she was a co-recipient of the, Woman in Film Crystal Award and has been honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame for her contribution to the Motion Picture Industry.
 
Along with a successful film career, Sandra Bullock also owns her own production company, Fortis Films and served as the executive producer of, "The George Lopez Show" and her company also produced the film, "All About Steve" (2009).
 
She has a very entrepreneurial spirit and opened up a restaurant called, Bess Bistro in Austin, Texas and also opened a bakery and upscale restaurant across the street called, Walton's Fancy and Staple.
 
Bullock has married only once to Jesse James in 2005 and they were together up until 2010 when it became public that he had been unfaithful to her.  In 2010, Bullock proceeded with adopting a child, Louis Bardo and chose to raise him as a single parent.
 
Sandra Bullock has also been involved in a number of charitable causes such as being a public supporter of the American Red Cross and also was involved in a public service announcement urging the public to sign a petition to help in the clean up efforts after an oil spill occurred in the Gulf of Mexico.
 
She now ranks as one of the most popular actresses in Hollywood and was listed in the Guinness Book of World Records as the Highest Paid Actress of all time with her earnings at $56 million as of 2012.  Bullock owns a home in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, one in Austin, Texas and also a home on Tybee Island in Georgia.
