RON ELY BIOGRAPHY & FILMOGRAPHY:

Ron Ely was born on June 21st, 1938 in Hereford, Texas with the birth name Ronald Pierce Ely.
 
He is most well known for his portrayal of Tarzan in the television series in 1966 "Tarzan".  He is also well remembered for his lead role in the film, "Doc Savage: The Man of Bronze" (1975). 
 
Prior to becoming involved in the acting industry, Ely attended the University of Texas in the mid 1950's and then began getting small parts in such films as, "South Pacific" (1958).  Also, earlier on in his career he appeared on such television series as "How To Marry a Millionaire" (1969) and "Playhouse 90" (1959).   
 
In the early 80's he was also the host of a game show called, "Face the Music" and was also the host of "The Miss America Pageants" in 1980 and 1981.  As he continued to act he was cast in the 1990's television series "Superboy" and the film "Seahunt" (1987).  Some of his latest roles have been on "Sheena" (2001) and "Renegade" (1993-1996).
 
He has married twice throughout his lifetime.  His first marriage was very brief to a lady named Cathy from 1959 through 1961.  He then married Valerie Lundeen in 1984 and they remain together today.  He has no children of his own.
 
He also has been credited as a writer of two mystery novels "Night Shadows" (1994) and "East Beach" (1995).  He has now completely retired from the acting industry.
